A quick how-to…Unschedule a Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) Email

You’re using the Account Engagement (Pardot) lightning email builder and have scheduled your email to send but need to make an edit. The lightning builder interface doesn’t give you the option to cancel the send, steps on how to do this are as follows;

Go to your Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) lightning interface.

Navigate along the Tabs to Pardot Email or Account Engagement Email:

From the left-hand side options, go to Scheduled.

In the Scheduled Emails list, find the email you want to unschedule.

Click on the email name to open it.

Once you're viewing the email details, there is an option to delete.

Click the delete button to unschedule the email.

Don’t fear this doesn’t delete the actual email it just deletes the scheduling of the lighting builder email.

This process differs from if you are wanting to unschedule a scheduled email which was built using the Pardot email/Account Engagement email (Classic interface) as you are able to edit from the scheduled listing ‘Action’ cogwheel and will be prompted that on edit your scheduled email will be cancelled.

Salesforce didn't ever fully build out the email lightning builder functionality, and as its retirement is planned, users of the builder will see a note saying support has finished!. So I anticipate where as the steps I have documented are accurate as of February 2025 future Salesforce updates may well change this process and other processes related to editing and sending through the lightning email builder further and as support is no longer offered on this builder I would suggest people follow the official Salesforce guidance and start using the Classic email builder.
